About Noortje

With Casa Juna, founder Noortje Geerts brings her love for both cozy home life and adventurous travel to life. Food and quality time around the dining table are her passions. Raised in Brabant, Noortje’s childhood was filled with long meals, cooking in oversized pots, and connecting around big tables since her family is very big. This warm, family-oriented lifestyle continues her current life in Amsterdam, where she lives with her partner Koen and daughter Juna.

Cooking together, for each other or for friends, sharing drinks, and gattering around the table – often talking about travels – is what makes life. Casa Juna is inspired by the world of travel, a passion close to Noortje’s heart. While she adores the comfort of home, Noortje is also a traveler. From India to Sumatra, Bali to Japan – no destination is too far. She takes at least one big trip each year, often diving and engaging in volunteer work abroad.

Even now with her daughter Juna, Noortje is determined to keep exploring the world, hoping to travel with Juna and show her the world. From her travels, she brings back not only memories but often flavorful spices for cooking or unique items for her home. African cushions, Moroccan lamps, or a table found at an Ibiza market – Noortje combines them all into a lively, colorful harmony. Like her personal style, Noortje’s home is full of warmth and colours. This style also characterizes Casa Juna’s food-loving home accessories, making every dining moment a little brighter and more joyful.
